USA Memorial Day May 26 2009 Blog Hop Tour
The tour has ended but the links are still up at the end of this post,
feel free to browse through them at your leisure.
I came across these websites that you may want to view
or choose not to that remind me of
Memorial Day.
(the above is very sad and made me cry the whole way through)
(the wife of a serving commander who deals with daily
living while her husband is away and makes some
awesome scrapbook layouts)
These are my cards I made in honour of
that I will be sending to a serving Hero/Heroess
Stamps: Circle Circus, Warm Words
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point
Paper: Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red,
Kraft, Whisper White
Accessories: Whisper White, Night of Navy
and Real Red grosgrain ribbons
I chose the Circle Circus Stampin' Up! stamp set
which is exclusive to the Australian market
This particular stamp has dots that make
up the circle.
Like the armed forces each
dot represents a person who all work
together to make it all happen.
Why am I participating in this US Memorial Day
BlogHop Tour you may ask?
My husband is a medically retired
US Navy 2nd Class Petty Officer.
I have always felt a connection to the
Men and Women from all countries who selflessly
give up their lives to help try and save our world.
They devote their lives and family
making it a better place for us to live in.
I try and contribute in any way
to make their lives, during their service, happier.
My contribution is to make a card and
enclose a letter to boost morale.
I also make extra cards so the Men and Women
of the armed forces can send
to a loved one back home.
as you can see they truly appreciate all our efforts.
When the Australian troops were first sent over to Iraq
I also sent letters and cards and the feedback I got
showed how much they appreciated that folks back
home cared enough about them to take the time to create
or write to them, it made their sacrifice and
commitment all the more bearable.
The card above was made for a female
and the card below is made for a male
The tour starts
I use Time Zone Converter
She's used an awesome watercolour technique.
There will be a link from Lisa's blog to the next

Our next tour will be July 27 and 28.
It will coincide with the launch of the yearly US Ideas Book Catalog,
so be sure to stop back here in July for updates!
Now for Blog Candy, this is the first time I am offering it,
we recently had a Stampin' Up! Convention right
here in Canberra, Australia on May 1-2 and was it
AWESOME or what!!!
I picked up some goodies from Memento Mall,
these items are exclusive to Convention, so
you get a chance to win something from the stash below.
You could live anywhere in the world and are
eligible to play, you won't know what you've won,
it will turn up in the mail, how cool is that.
All you have to do is enter comments on this page only and
you will be eligible to be in the draw,
I will pick 3 winners and they will also
receive one of the cards below.
P.S. you don't need to own a blog to be able to play,
you just need to be able to email me when you have won.
Go right to the bottom of this update and click on COMMENTS
only comments appearing on this page will qualify.
You have until Wednesday May 20th midnight to enter your comments.
I have taken into consideration the time zone factor so it will be
Thursday for me that I will draw the winner.
You will then contact me via email with your postal address
by Friday May 22, if I do not get an email from the
winners by May 23, Saturday I will redraw.

Spring-Summer 2009 Ideas Book & Catalogue.

as the links that make up this tour will disappear at
12 midnight Saturday May 16, 2009 in US/Eastern or
2 p.m. Sunday May 17, 2009 in Australia/Canberra
(I used Time Zone Converter to get the above)
My chosen stamp set is Fifth Avenue Floral
The above card is a favourite design I have seen all over the net
called FLOATING WATER COLOUR REINKER
and I have been fortunate enough to get one as a swap at
our convention last week .
You will find the original card I cased here
I got the idea of the imitaion ribbon
things from Sandi MacIver, she used the
small and large oval to do that
My next card is a design and colour outside of my comfort zone.
I challenged myself to create inside and outside my comfort zone
and I'm pretty pleased with this one.
The inspiration for these cards came from Sandi MacIver
run on over to her blog she has some awesome ideas
that never fails to amaze me. Sandi is also a good friend.
That I had the privilege to meet in person for the first
Also inspiring me with this technique is Patty Bennett
she has some amazing designs too and a tutorial she made.
Crystal French from Denver is the originator of this technique,
I wish I had her blog or email to link to this.
Come back on Monday and I will add full details of the techniques,
recipes and links to the tutorials for the above cards,
right now I want you to enjoy the tour and bookmark
your favourites before the links disappear.
ALSO ON MONDAY COME BACK AND VISIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS
ON HOW TO WIN BLOG CANDY OF PRODUCTS EXCLUSIVE
TO THE AUSTRALIAN CONVENTION FROM MEMENTO MALL
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD
YOU CAN WIN BLOG CANDY
I had a great time looking over all the blogs and getting
ideas to boost my mojo when it's lost (don't you get that sometimes?).
The first Blog Tour was on April 27th
This tour consists of Tours 5, 6, 7 and the following
demonstrators participated
