Thursday Oct 29 10 minute card challenge, Mini Card Holder

It's Thursday again and the 10 minute card challenge
do each week keeps my mojo going.

I just had to make one of Jan Farring's Mini Magazine File.
I've seen these being paraded around the web
and put it in the too hard basket because I'd never seen
a tutorial before hers.
She was so correct when she said they looked
confusing but once you've done one
they are easy peasy!!

Here's Blythe's version

I made 13 in 2 hours.

Now I had to alter mine abit because it would
not fit our card size which is slightly larger
than US size. Jan kindly gave me permission
to post up my version of the tutorial.

Ingredients: 1 of 12" x 12" textured cardstock
1 of dsp 1" x 12"
1 of dsp 1" x 5 1/2"
1 of dsp 1" x 4"
Red liner tape

Score 1 1/2"and 6 1/2"

Turn around and score 5" x 7"

Cut the 1 1/2" and 6 1/2"lines up to the 5"mark
turn cardstock and cut to the 7"line

This is what it should look like,
Score the middle piece at 2", 3 1/2", 8 1/2"and 10"

Make a pencil mark 1"up the top part
and 1 1/2"on the right side of the 7" score

Cut that triangle off

Do the same on the other side where the 5"
score is
Cut just a small piece off the middle section

...............and the other side

Make your folds with the middle piece
valley, valley and mountain fold as shown

Fold the 1 1/2"part up as in photo

Tuck the middle piece over like this

Turn around and do the other side, no tape needed for this

Flip over and lay red liner or sticky strip
tape as shown, if you don't use
the sticky strip it will pop open
believe me I was being stingy
with the first one and everything
fell apart LOL

Remove sticky strip backing and hold
the section and shown and slowly
let it stick to the smaller section

Lay it down and smooth it out

...turn over and do the other side

Stick the 5 1/2"dsp to the back of the card holder
you can be stingy here and use the snail

Take the 4"dsp and place it on the back as shown

Lastly place the 12"dsp over

Here are some of the ones I did

ok I skipped lunch to do these
it's now 2.30pm and my stomach is rumbling hee hee

Hi Bridget! Thanks for this - I've made miniature versions of these but could never be bothered working out a full-sized version, so thanks for saving me the trouble! Gosh it's been a long time since I was in touch, I'm sorry, very busy over here as I'm sure you are too! I hope all is well with you. You're still planning on going to Sydney for Convention, right?

Sweet website! I discovered it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any guidelines on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to have there! Cheers
